Chemical recycling of polystyrene with Agilyx announcedDolco Packaging (Wayne, Pennsylvania / USA; www.tekni-plex.com/dolco), a leading US manufacturer of polystyrene egg cartons and a business of packaging specialist Tekni-Plex, has announced a collaboration with plastics recycling company Agilyx (Tigard, Oregon / USA; www.agilyx.com) to expand recycling of PS packaging.

Under the cooperation Dolco will supply Agilyx with a portion of its own post-industrial PS scrap from egg carton and food tray production as well as used PS packaging it has collected from consumers. The chemical recycler will use its proprietary recycling technology to convert the materials back into styrene monomer, which is then used to create new polystyrene products.
