ECO-FRIENDLY POLYURETHANE FOAM USING ALDEHYDE COMPOUND AND DIELS-ALDER REACTION PRODUCT OF ALDEHYDE COMPOUND AND METHOD FOR FORMING SAME

The present invention relates to a new concept of polyurethane foam and a method for preparing same. In the present invention, instead of reducing consumption of water used as a foaming agent in a manufacturing process for polyurethane foam, as an initial raw material, an aldehyde compound is added to proceed with a urethane reaction, or a diels-alder reaction product of the aldehyde compound is added alone or together with the aldehyde compound to proceed with a urethane reaction. In this process, water produced during formation of a Schiff-base is supplemented for use. The present invention has advantages of being able to be performed in an eco-friendly manner in a way that, by using water supplied from the initial raw material and water newly produced by the reaction process, sequentially as a foaming agent, an exothermic reaction can be adjusted during a foaming process, heat of reaction is controlled and brittle properties can be solved in a manufacturing process for polyurethane foam, without using an auxiliary foaming agent having a low boiling point, and chemical recycling of waste polyurethane foam can be performed at a low temperature.
