Sigma Stretch Film is partnering with iSustain Recycling to help capture more plastic packaging for recycling.

The stretch film maker is launching what is described as "new recycling initiative" with iSustain to provide services to Sigma customers.

Sigma, a unit of Sigma Plastics Group, has the capacity to produce more than 700 million pounds of stretch film annually.

"ISustain Recycling specializes in creative custom recycling solutions for businesses that deal in massive quantities of materials that other companies deem unrecyclable," the companies said in a statement. The company practices reuse, recycling, alternative energy and chemical recycling.

Materials handled by iSustain Recycling include polyethylene films, polypropylene films, crosslinked films, non-olefin films, coated films, purges, pellets, rigid plastics, bulk bags, pallets and paper-based products.

ISustain has locations in Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Memphis and Atlanta, according to its website. The company recycles more than 161 million pounds of plastic each year.

Sigma Stretch Film has five locations in Lyndhurst, N.J., Shelbyville, Ky., Tulsa, Okla., Riverside, Calif., and Belleville, Canada. It was No. 4 in the most recent Plastics News ranking of film and sheet makers in North America with $2.3 billion in sales in the region.
